VW Bus T3 Westfalia Joker, 1987, 1.6 turbo diesel, 69 hp with a typical popup roof.

Currently it has 259,000 kilometers. The motor was totally overhauled before the journey at a German VW-garage – new glow plugs, new battery etc. All approved by the German technical control board (TÜV and ASU until October 2010). Overall you could say it is in a very good condition for its age and we are very lucky to have that bus. Unfortunately we bought it just for this trip.

It has a classic Westfalia Joker interior after all that years in an astonishing condition. The interior includes two beds , kitchen and storing. The size of both beds - one at the top, one at the bottom - are both equal 120cm x 190cm. The kitchen contains of two gas stoves, refrigerator (gas, 110V~220V, 12V), basin with faucet (60l fresh water tank and sewage tank at the bottom), storage for all kitchen equipment and movable table.

For cold winter days the RV is well isolated and for even worse temperatures it has a diesel heater and additional isolation mats. For all the electricity parts referring to the interior of the camper exists a brand new secondary battery.

To the addition of the VW Westfalia it provides a hitch, a special shelf above the dashboard, luggage rack on top of the car and a swivel passenger seat. For our trip we added a big GFK box which is attached to a rack located at the back of the car. The rack could also be used to transport two bikes at a time. Four speakers and a new radio with CD Player (MP3) makes it easy to drive long distances. Along with the car comes our entire camping equipment. That consists of achemical toilet, outside table, two chairs, kitchen utensils, barbecue, four large plastic boxes, which we use for our clothes, additional water containers, a diesel container, etc. With the car also come a tow rope, jumper cables, the most necessary tools, two spare tires, folding spade, etc.

Minor defects are:

The wheel alignment needs a control. Inside rust appears below the rear window, also rust underneath the rubber mat in the door entrance. Slight rust on the paintwork caused by small rocks which you can not avoid while driving through dirt roads, a dent at the left bottom of the car. The driver armrest is loose. The fly-screens are old and brittle. The switch of the front light broke and has been replaced by a new heavy duty switch.

We would like to sell the car at the end of our journey at the mid until the end of August 2009. We are going to fly back home on the 24th of August from Buenos Aires. The actual selling point is negotiable.

Price: sold!!!
